Local Sports Shop Makes Donation To Hospital

New Castle natives and business owners Seth Lee and Kyle York were looking for a way to show their support to local healthcare workers and first responders. Lee’s wife, Brittani, is a nurse at Henry Community Health, so the drive to support hospital workers was personal.
The pair used their business, Sports Corner Elite, to open an online store featuring shirt designs imprinted with uplifting messages like “We fight together” and “Faith over fear.” A percentage of all sales went into a fund designed to benefit Henry Community Health.
The online store sales skyrocketed, boosted by a generous donation from FC Tucker/Crossroads Real Estate. This company purchased a shirt for any healthcare worker who wanted one. Others jumped in to purchase shirts to show their support and solidarity with those at the forefront of keeping our community safe and well.
The success of the online store made it possible for Sports Corner Elite to donate $1,616 to Henry Community Health. Lee and York and their families met hospital leaders on the front lawn of the hospital to present the check.
“What you are doing is important to us and important to our community,” York said to Brian Ring and Paul Janssen of Henry Community Health. “We wanted to show our support and you can use this donation wherever you may need it most.”
Sports Corner Elite has a second shop open with many of the same designs on it. This shop will focus on first responders and a portion of the proceeds will go to those working on the front lines.
